1. Introduction to the exercise: the Southeastern Brazilian coastal model
In this first tutorial, we will introduce the study area, the workflow with all the tasks involved to complete the execution of the program, and the user-configuration file used by the SURF-NEMO package.
2. Spatial numerical grid generation
In this second tutorial, we will introduce the basic concepts of the Spatial Numerical Grid used in the ocean model NEMO, the input datasets of bathymetry and coastline needed to create the meshmask, and then start the practical activity with SURF-NEMO platform by creating the meshmask for our nested domain.
3. Generation of the forcing fields for the initial and boundary condition
In this third tutorial, we will introduce the basic concepts of the Initial-Boundary Value Problem for the primitive equations of the ocean, and start the practical activity with SURF-NEMO platform by creating the forcing fields for the Initial and Boundary Condition for our nested domain.
4. Generation of the high resolution fields and discussion of the results
In this fourth tutorial, we will introduce the basic physical and numerical characteristics of the ocean model NEMO, discuss the results of our high‐resolution nested model, and generate High-Resolution Fields in our nested domain using the SURF-NEMO platform.
